Troop H: Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Seizure In Andrew County
At approximately 3:03 p.m. on March 23, 2017, a state trooper stopped a southbound 2017 Ford Fusion on Interstate 29 at the 50-mile marker in Andrew County. Circumstances led to the Troop H canine alerting on the vehicle which led to a probable cause search. The search revealed 20 pounds of marijuana.
The driver, Joseph Fartantonio, 29, of North Hollywood, California, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The suspect was transported to the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department in Savannah, Missouri.
The charges for which the above persons were arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
