EMPHASIS: Missouri State Highway Patrol and Southeast Missouri State University to Announce New Crime Laboratory Build Site
Colonel Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, invites members of the media to a joint press conference to announce the future location and build site of the new Missouri State Highway Patrol crime laboratory in southeast Missouri.
The conference will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, in the parking lot at 1221 Broadway Street, Cape Girardeau, MO. In the event of inclement weather, the press conference will take place at the Wehking Alumni Center, 926 Broadway Street, Cape Girardeau, MO.
Speakers will include Colonel Turner and Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) President Dr. Brad Hodson. Missouri State Senator Jamie Burger and Missouri State Representative John Voss will also make remarks.
Officials will discuss the future facility and how the project will enhance forensic science capabilities and support criminal investigations across Missouri.
