EMPHASIS:
Troop I Seeking Information: Phelps County Fatal Hit And Run
Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer, Troop I, Rolla, is requesting the assistance of the public for any information pertaining to a fatal hit and run. The incident occurred at approximately 3:41 a.m., on Missouri Highway CC, approximately 2 miles west of U.S. Highway 63, south of Rolla. According to the preliminary investigation and evidence at the scene, a pedestrian was walking in the eastbound lane and was struck from behind by an unidentified eastbound vehicle. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the left, front fender and bumper area, undercarriage, and the right side. Video surveillance from a local business close to the crash scene is being reviewed. Troopers are interested in speaking with an unidentified, white male who reportedly stopped at the crash scene approximately 10 minutes after the incident.
