November 25, 2025 Q11252025 EMPHASIS: Sergeant Adam R. Johnson Promoted To Lieutenant
Major Justin L. McCullough, director of the Field Operations Bureau, announces the following promotion:
Effective December 1, 2025, Sergeant Adam R. Johnson will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transfer to the Field Operations Bureau, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.
Johnson joined the Patrol on July 1, 2009, as a member of the 90th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Butler and Ripley counties. In June 2014, he transferred to Troop G, Zone 5, Ozark and Douglas counties. Johnson was promoted to corporal in September 2018, and assigned to Troop G, Zone 10, Northern Howell and Shannon counties. He transferred in April 2019 to the Marine Operations team in Troop G, Zone 12. Johnson was later promoted to sergeant in June 2022 and assigned to Troop G, Zone 10 Marine Operations.
Lt. Johnson grew up in Danforth, IL. In 2005, he graduated from Iroquois West High School in Gilman, IL. He graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL with a Bachelor of Science in law enforcement and justice administration and a minor in business management. Lt. Johnson and his wife, Lauren, have two children.
