EMPHASIS: Nine New Troopers Assigned To Troop C

Captain Stephen B. Ferrier, commanding officer of Troop C, is pleased to announce nine new troopers have been assigned to Troop C. The new troopers were members of the Patrol’s 105nd Recruit Class, which graduated on June 29, 2018. The troopers completed 25 weeks of intense training at the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri. The new troopers will report to their assignments on July 16, 2018. They will work with a field training officer for approximately three months before working independently. The new troopers’ assignments are as follows:

Trooper Jordan R. Brown, 25, a native of Madelia, Minnesota, has been assigned to Zone 3, serving South St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Trooper Brown is a graduate of Madelia High School in Madelia, Minnesota. After graduation, she attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Brown worked as a youth specialist for the Missouri Division of Youth Services in St. Louis, Missouri.

Trooper David M. Dooley III, 22, a native of Park Hills, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, serving St. Francois and Washington counties. Trooper Dooley is a graduate of Central High School in Park Hills, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Dooley joined the Army National Guard, where he currently serves as an intelligence analyst. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Dooley worked as a corrections officer for the Missouri Department of Corrections in Bonne Terre, Missouri.

Trooper Cody A. Groves, 24, a native of Gideon, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 3, serving South St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Trooper Groves is a graduate of Gideon High School in Gideon, Missouri. After graduation Trooper Groves attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Groves worked as an inspector for WW Wood Products in Dudley, Missouri. Trooper Groves is married to Meredith (Sanders).

Trooper Stephen G. Hassell, 23, a native of Hillsboro, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 20, serving Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. Trooper Hassell is a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminology. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Hassell worked as a substitute teacher for Hillsboro R-3 School District in Hillsboro, Missouri.

Trooper Quentin H. Hooks, 22, a native of Florissant, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, serving North St. Louis County. Trooper Hooks is a graduate of Fort Zumwalt North High School in O’Fallon, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Hooks attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, and Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Hooks worked as a gymnasium attendant at St. Peters Recreation Plex in St. Peters, Missouri.

Trooper Zachary T. Micks, 27, a native of O’Fallon, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 1, serving North St. Louis County. Trooper Micks is a graduate of Fort Zumwalt West High School in O’Fallon, Missouri. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Micks worked as a laborer for Devault Operations in St. Charles, Missouri.

Trooper Zackery S. Preston, 27, a native of Osage Beach, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, serving St. Francois and Washington counties. Trooper Preston is a graduate of School of the Osage in Osage Beach, Missouri. After graduation, he attended University of Central Missouri then State Fair Community College where he graduated with an Associate of Arts in construction management. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Preston worked as a police officer for the Osage Beach Police Department in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Trooper Nicholas W. Stevens, 24, a native of Pawnee, Illinois, has been assigned to Zone 4, serving South St. Louis and Jefferson counties. Trooper Stevens is a graduate of Pawnee High School in Pawnee, Illinois. After graduation, he attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Stevens worked as a security officer for Allied Universal in St. Louis, Missouri.

Trooper George Vargas, 27, a native of Brooklyn, New York, has been assigned to Zone 1, serving North St. Louis County. Trooper Vargas is a graduate of Lincoln High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Vargas served as an engineer in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Trooper Vargas is married to Zoraimi (Jimenez)
