EMPHASIS: Troop G Announces Promotions

Captain Bruce D. Fiske, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following Troop G promotions effective June 1, 2022.

Corporal Dave A. Huffman will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and be designated zone supervisor in Zone 4, Northern Howell and Shannon counties.

Huffman was appointed to the Patrol on October 16, 2001, as a member of the 79th Recruit Class. After graduating the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 4, Audrain County. On November 1, 2006, Huffman transferred to Troop G, and was assigned to Zone 6, Southern Howell and Oregon counties. July 1, 2020, Huffman was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 2, Texas and Wright counties.

Sergeant Huffman is a native of Gatewood, Missouri, and a graduate of Couch High School, Myrtle, Missouri. He attended Three Rivers Community College, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Sergeant Huffman is married and has three children.


Trooper Christopher A. Kimes was promoted to corporal, and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 4, Northern Howell and Shannon counties. Kimes was appointed to the Patrol on January 7, 2007, as a member of the 86th Recruit Class. After graduating the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop I, Zone 7, Dent County, where he served until transferring to Troop G, on September 1, 2010. In Troop G, he was assigned to Zone 7, Southern Howell and Oregon counties.

Corporal Kimes is a native of West Plains, Missouri, and a graduate of West Plains High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, Missouri. Corporal Kimes is married and has two children.

Trooper Matthew J. Chastain was promoted to corporal, and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 8, Carter and Reynolds counties. Chastain was appointed to the Patrol on January 2, 2017, as a member of the 104th Recruit Class. After graduating the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop G, Zone 4, Northern Howell and Shannon counties.

Corporal Chastain is a native of Marshfield, Missouri. He is a graduate of Conway High School and attended College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Corporal Chastain is married.
