EMPHASIS: Troop C Announces A Promotion Captain Kevin W. Malugen announces the following promotion effective March 1, 2025: Sergeant William B. Sevier was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and transferred from Troop C, Zone 16, Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties to Troop C Headquarters, Weldon Spring, where he will serve as a member of the Troop C command staff. Lieutenant Sevier was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1997, as a member of the 73rd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, Zone 16, serving Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. In 2008, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor in Zone 16. In 2014, he was promoted to sergeant and designated zone supervisor in zone 16. On March 1, 2025, Sevier was promoted to lieutenant and transferred to Troop C Headquarters, where he will serve as a member of the Troop C command staff. Lieutenant Sevier is a native of St. Peters, Missouri and graduated from Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Missouri, in 1991. After graduation, he attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Justice Systems. In 2021, Lieutenant Sevier completed Police Leadership, West Point Model training at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Training Academy. Prior to his employment to the Highway Patrol, Lieutenant Sevier was a police officer for the Dodge City Police Department in Dodge City, Kansas.
