EMPHASIS: Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrests

At approximately 3:42 a.m., on March 28, 2017, the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant on a residence located at 713 West Dodson Street, Kirksville, Missouri. During execution of the search warrant officers located approximately three pounds of packaged methamphetamine, digital scales, smoking devices, and approximately one pound of Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). MSM is a substance commonly added to methamphetamine to increase its weight for higher sales.
Thomas J. Hill, 36, Nicki L. Hill, 29, Michael A. Griffin, 23, and Andrew J. Farnan, 27, all off Kirksville, Missouri were arrested at the residence. On March 28, 2017, the Adair County Prosecuting Attorney filed the following formal charges; Thomas J. Hill, trafficking drugs-first degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Nicki L. Hill, trafficking drugs-first degree, possession marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Michael A. Griffin, trafficking drugs-first degree; Andrew J. Farnan, trafficking drugs-first degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
At approximately 12:45 p.m., on March 29, 2017, officers executed a second search warrant on a storage unit located south of Kirksville. During this search, officers located approximately two additional pounds of methamphetamine, one illegal firearm, and a handgun.
The total amount of methamphetamine located between the two search warrants was approximately five pounds, with a potential street value of $230,000.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, the Kirksville Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
The charges for which the individuals were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
