EMPHASIS: Captain Philip E. Gregory Announces Promotion Of Sergeant Michael D. Lynch

Captain Philip E. Gregory, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces Sergeant Michael D. Lynch is being promoted to the rank of lieutenant effective January 1, 2021, and will be assigned to Troop E Headquarters in Poplar Bluff.

Lynch was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1996, and after graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, was assigned to Troop C, Zone 14, St. Francois/Washington counties. In 1998, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 11, Stoddard County. In December 2007, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 4, Cape Girardeau/Scott counties. On January 1, 2013, he was promoted to sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 5, Cape Girardeau/Scott counties.

He is a native of Hermitage, Missouri, and graduated from Hermitage High School. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1989 to 1997. Before being appointed to the Patrol, he attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He has one son, Drew.
