EMPHASIS:
Branson Area Events - Traffic Awareness Alert
With upcoming concerts attracting larger than normal crowds to the Branson/Taney County area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is offering the following guidance to attendees as they plan for increased congestion in the area.
Plan Ahead -
Be familiar with the common routes that lead to and from the event venue. Know the scheduled gate opening times and make yourself familiar with parking locations. Be alert for electronic updates from the event host. Ensure your vehicle has sufficient fuel for any unexpected arrival and departure delays. Exercise good judgement when utilizing real-time navigation apps which monitor live traffic and offer alternate travel routes.
Arrive Early
- Minimizing your time spent in stopped traffic by leaving early.
Obey Posted Signs and Signals -
Do not use emergency lanes or shoulders unless directed as these areas are reserved for emergency services.
Follow Officer Direction -
Law enforcement personnel will be present at intersections near the venue to manage traffic flow.
Remain Alert -
Watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, and fellow drivers within the congested areas.
Avoid Distracted Driving -
Do not “
hold or support your cell phone or electronic communication device in your hand”
while driving.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol remains committed to working with local law enforcement and event planners to ensure the safety of event patrons and the motoring public.
