EMPHASIS: Officer-Involved Shooting In Pettis County, Missouri
At approximately 10 p.m., on Saturday, June 13, 2020, a deputy with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near U.S. Highway 50 and Winchester Drive in Sedalia, Missouri. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was not compliant. The suspect allegedly threatened the deputy by stating she was armed and going to shoot him. The incident escalated and the deputy discharged his weapon, striking the suspect. Officers at the scene rendered first aid. The Pettis County Coroner arrived at the scene and pronounced the female deceased. There were no other injuries during the incident.

The Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control investigators were requested to respond to the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
