EMPHASIS: Troop G Announces Promotion and Transfer

Captain Bruce Fiske, commanding officer of Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotions and transfers, effective February 1, 2025:

Trooper Jacob J. Smith Promoted to Corporal
Trooper Jacob J. Smith will be promoted to the rank of corporal and assigned as the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 8, which serves the citizens of Carter and Reynolds counties.

Trooper Smith began his career with the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a member of the 109th Recruit Class, which began training on January 6, 2020, and graduated on June 26, 2020. He was assigned to Troop G, Zone 3, where he served the citizens of northern Howell and Shannon counties.

A native of Winona, Mo., Trooper Smith graduated from Winona High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Evangel University in Springfield, Mo.

Corporal Troy M. Broyles to Transfer to Zone 6
Corporal Troy M. Broyles will transfer from Zone 8, serving Carter and Reynolds counties, to Zone 6, where he will serve the citizens of southern Howell and Oregon counties.

Corporal Broyles was appointed to the Patrol on January 2, 2019, as a member of the 107th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy, he was initially assigned to Troop A, Zone 5, serving Carroll and Ray counties. On December 1, 2021, he transferred to Troop G, Zone 6, and was later promoted to corporal and assigned to Zone 8 in January 2024.

A native of Doniphan, Mo., Corporal Broyles is a graduate of Couch High School in Couch, Mo. He holds an Associate of Arts in general studies from Missouri State University in West Plains, Mo.
