EMPHASIS: St. Joseph, MO, Man Arrested/Charged With Child Pornography

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) announces the arrest of Billy E. Meyerdirk, 48, of St. Joseph, MO, for Possession of Child Pornography. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Special Victims Unit (SVU), with assistance from the Missouri Digital Forensic Center.

In April 2026, SVU investigators conducted an online investigation for offenders sharing child pornography over the internet. During the investigation an IP address associated with Meyerdirk was identified as sharing/uploading child sexual abuse material.

On May 28, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant in St. Joseph. SVU investigators contacted and interviewed Meyerdirk, regarding possession of child pornography. Several images of child pornography were located on electronic devices at the residence. As a result, Meyerdirk was arrested and transported to the Buchanan County Jail.

The Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Meyerdirk with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He is being held at the Buchanan County Jail on $10,000.00 bond.

DDCC encourages internet users to promptly report to the Patrol or local law enforcement anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children.

The charges for which the above individuals were arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
