EMPHASIS: Patrol Seeks Assistance With Fatal Crash In Boone County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash indirectly involving a red minivan. The crash occurred on Friday, May 19, 2017, on U.S. Highway 63, just south of Missouri Highway 124. The intersection is located approximately six miles west of Hallsville, MO, and eight miles north of Columbia.

The deceased, Kimberly M. Schumann, 21, Jacksonville, MO, was southbound on U.S. 63, when she swerved to avoid the minivan that had turned into her path. Her vehicle crossed through the median and was struck by another vehicle traveling northbound on U.S. 63. The minivan driver stopped momentarily and then drove southbound on U.S. 63.

The minivan is described as a cherry red, newer model van being driven by a male, with some gray hair. The minivan may not have any damage.
