EMPHASIS: Five New Troopers Assigned To Troop C

Captain Ryan A. Burckhardt, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the assignment of five new troopers to Troop C. The new troopers were members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 115th Recruit Class and graduated from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy on December 22, 2022. The new troopers from the 115th Recruit Class will report for duty on January 9, 2023.

Trooper Michael J. Ashley, a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica, has been assigned to Zone 8, serving the citizens of St. Charles County. Trooper Ashley is a 2008 graduate of Tacius Golding High School in St. Catherine, Jamaica. After high school, Trooper Ashley moved to Jefferson City, Missouri, and attended Lincoln University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in liberal studies in 2015. Prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol, Trooper Ashley was employed with the Missouri Department of Corrections in Jefferson City, Missouri. Trooper Ashley is married to Sedonie Ashley and they have one daughter, Cassidy.

Trooper Lyndon T. Carson, a native of Saint James, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, serving the citizens of North St. Louis County. Trooper Carson is a 2019 graduate of Saint James High School in Saint James, Missouri. Prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol, Trooper Carson was employed with CVS Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech.

Trooper Melissa L. Kelly, a native of Greenville, Illinois, has been assigned to Zone 8, serving the citizens of St. Charles County. Trooper Kelly is a 2007 graduate of Mulberry Grove High School in Mulberry Grove, Illinois. In 2021, Trooper Kelly graduated from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois, with an associate in applied science degree in criminal justice. Prior to her appointment to the Highway Patrol, Trooper Kelly was employed as a machinist for Olin Brass in East Alton, Illinois.

Trooper Timothy J. O’Sullivan, a native of Imperial, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, serving the citizens of North St. Louis County. Trooper O’Sullivan is a 2013 graduate of Windsor C-1 High School in Imperial, Missouri. Trooper O’Sullivan graduated from the University of Missouri in 2020, with a Bachelor of Science in music. Trooper O’Sullivan has served as a member of the Missouri Army National Guard since 2016. Prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol, Trooper O’Sullivan was employed at Columbia College as a veteran certifying official. Trooper O’Sullivan is married to Brianne O’Sullivan.

Trooper Benjamin C. Roberts, a native of Mountain Grove, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 1, serving the citizens North St. Louis County. Trooper Roberts is a 2020 graduate of Mountain Grove High School in Mountain Grove, Missouri. After graduation, Trooper Roberts attended Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri. Prior to his appointment to the Highway Patrol, Trooper Roberts was employed as a protection officer for Ascension Protective Services in Springfield, Missouri.
