EMPHASIS: Trooper Eric Kolb Receives Award From MADD

Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) recently recognized Trooper Eric Kolb for his efforts in arresting and removing drunk drivers from Missouri’s roadways.

In 2003, Trooper Kolb led all troopers assigned to Troop A by arresting 75 drivers for driving while intoxicated. Troop A, Lee’s Summit, led all the other troops with a total of 1,895 arrests for driving while intoxicated. Karen Waldram, Victim Advocate for MADD, presented Trooper Kolb with the award for his hard work and dedication.

Trooper Kolb was appointed to the Patrol on January 16, 2001, and is currently assigned to Clay County.

Captain Vincent J. Ellis, Commanding Officer, Troop A, stated that he is very proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by Trooper Kolb. “Removing drunk drivers from our highways is a high priority for all troopers across the State of Missouri. We may never know the actual benefits of our efforts, but when a trooper responds to an injury crash and sees someone who has been struck by a drunk driver, that trooper, and the person involved in the crash, know how vitally important our job of arresting drunk drivers is,” stated Captain Ellis.
