EMPHASIS: Captain Vitale Announces The Promotion Of Sergeant Cameron M. Heath


Captain Jeffrey N. Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Cameron M. Heath to the rank of lieutenant. The promotion is effective April 1, 2016. Lieutenant Heath is a 29-year veteran with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Heath was appointed to the Patrol on August 1, 1986, as a member of the 58th Recruit Class. Upon graduation from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 8, serving New Madrid and Pemiscot counties. On May 1, 1989, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 5, serving Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, and Scott counties. On January 1, 1996, he was promoted to the rank of corporal and remained assigned to Zone 5. On February 15, 1999, he transferred to and was designated the zone supervisor of the newly created Major Crash Investigation Unit Team Four. On August 1, 1999, he was promoted to sergeant and remained assigned to the Major Crash Investigation Unit.

Heath was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1979, and attended college at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Lieutenant Heath and his wife Christey have two children; Cameron M. Heath Jr. and Jacquelinne S. (Heath) Urquhart (husband Paul). They also have two grandchildren: Blake and Abby.
