EMPHASIS: Full-Time Recruiter Assigned To Troop D, Troop I Area


Captain Roger D. Whittler, director of the Career Recruitment Division, announces the following transfer effective December 1, 2017: The Patrol assigned Trooper Antonio Sandoval Jr. to the Career Recruitment Division as a full-time recruiter for the Troop D, Springfield, and Troop I, Rolla, areas. Tpr. Sandoval is a 13-year veteran of the Patrol.

Tpr. Sandoval was appointed to the Patrol on January 18, 2004, as a member of the 82nd Recruit Class. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Troop C, Zone 4, St. Louis County. In 2007, he transferred to Troop D, where he worked first in Zone 7, Newton/McDonald counties, and later in Zone 11, Jasper County.

As a full-time recruiter, Tpr. Sandoval will attend community events, college career fairs, local school events, speaking engagements, and other activities to identify the best qualified individuals to the Patrol. Recruiters also assist with community alliance programs, administer selection testing, make presentations for young people, serve as information source for individuals interested in the working the Patrol.

Tpr. Sandoval is originally from New York City, NY. He graduated from high school in Yauco, Puerto Rico. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, and served as a police officer prior to being appointed to the Patrol. Tpr. Sandoval and his wife, Carisa, have three children: Sean, Julianna, and Amielia.
