EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop E DWI Checkpoint In Cape Girardeau County


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the results of a DWI checkpoint conducted in Troop E, Cape Girardeau County, beginning at 11 p.m. on August 27, 2011 and ending at 3 a.m. on August 28, 2011. During the operation, troopers were assigned to conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Missouri Highway 74 in Cape Girardeau County. The totals from this checkpoint include:

5--Driving While Intoxicated Arrests
4--Failure To Wear A Seat Belt Summonses
2--Non-Moving Summonses
2--Driver’s License Summonses
5--Misdemeanor Drug Arrests
1--Minor In Possession Arrest
3--MisdemeanorArrests/Criminal Offenses
80-- Warnings (various traffic offenses)

Captain Ridens said, “The DWI checkpoints are a part of the Patrol’s effort to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways. The troopers in the Troop E area will continue to pursue this goal.”
