EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Results Of Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the results of SAFETE, an enforcement program focusing on commercial motor vehicle violations. SAFETE was conducted on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, in Cape Girardeau County. During the eight-hour project, five troopers focused their enforcement activities on hazardous operations of commercial motor vehicles. Totals from this operation include:

11 -- Speed summonses
26 -- Seat belt summonses
3 -- Commercial motor vehicle arrests
3 -- Non-moving violations
1 -- No driver’s license/driving while revoked or suspended
2 -- Out-of-service driver
2 -- Out-of-service vehicle
27 -- Commercial motor vehicle inspections
48 -- Total arrests
41 -- Warnings

Captain Ridens said, “Enforcement of commercial motor vehicle laws and regulations is critical to the safety of the motoring public. Please assist us in our efforts by reporting careless drivers and other suspicious activities on Missouri’s roadways.”
