EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Memorial Weekend Totals


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the Memorial Day weekend traffic crash and enforcement totals for the Troop E area, which consists of 13 counties in Southeast Missouri. Troop E officers investigated 29 traffic crashes, which resulted in 25 injuries and zero fatalities. Troop E officers working on Interstate 55 participated in the 20-Mile Trooper project. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Southeast Missouri on Friday May 27, 2011, and Monday May 30, 2011. Totals from this operation include:

139 -- Speed Summonses
44 -- Seat Belt Summonses
3 -- Child Restraint Summonses
10 -- Driver’s License Summonses
30 -- Non-Moving Summonses
7 -- Uninsured Motorist Summonses
8 -- Hazardous Moving Summonses
1-- Felony Drug Arrest
1-- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
288 -- Warnings

Captain Ridens said, "We will continue to do our job in making our highways as safe as possible for all travelers. Please remember we need your continued help--pay attention, obey all traffic laws, make sure everyone is buckled up, and if you drink, don't drive."
