Captain Scott A. Shipers Announces Promotion
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the following promotion effective today, February 1, 2021.
Trooper Bryan W. Montgomery was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 6, serving Jackson County. Montgomery was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2013, as a member of the 97th Recruit Class. After graduating the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 7, serving Jackson County.
Corporal Montgomery was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Oak Grove High School, in Oak Grove, Missouri, in 2010. Montgomery earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, in 2014. Corporal Montgomery is married to Emily (Rimel) Montgomery who is originally from Kingman, Arizona.
