EMPHASIS: Colonel Ron Replogle Announces Retirement Of Lt. Michael W. Platte
Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the retirement of Lieutenant Michael W. Platte, General Headquarters, after more than 28 years of dedicated service. Lt. Platte’s retirement is effective March 1, 2011.
Platte began his career with the Patrol on January 3, 1983, as a member of the 55th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was first assigned to Troop B, Zone 7, Knox County. In 1990, he was promoted to the rank of corporal and transferred to Troop B, Zone 3, Linn County, where he was designated assistant zone commander. He transferred to the Division of Drug and Crime Control, General Headquarters, in 1992. Platte was promoted to sergeant in 1997, and to lieutenant in 2003. Lt. Platte is retiring as an assistant division director in the Division of Drug and Crime Control.
Platte was born in Mexico, MO. He graduated from Mark Twain High School in Center, MO, in 1977. In 1981, he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration and economics from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO. Lt. Platte and his wife, Cindy, reside in Macon, MO.
