Troop A Announces Promotions
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces the following promotions effective November 1, 2019.
Trooper Jared L. Dillon will be promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Troop A, Zone 18, commercial motor vehicle enforcement troopers. Trooper Dillon was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 16, 2013, as a member of the 96th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Zone 5, Ray and Carroll counties. Trooper Dillon transferred to Zone 9, Lafayette County, and later became a CVET.
Corporal Dillon was born in Independence, Missouri. He graduated from Odessa High School, in Odessa, Missouri, in 1991. Before joining the Patrol, he attended Blue Springs Community College in Blue Springs, Missouri, and Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska. Corporal Dillon is married to Blythe (Peterson) Dillon, who is originally from Atkinson, Nebraska. He and his wife have three children, Patrick, Peyten, and Prescott.

Trooper Aaron A. Engelhart will be promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 7, which serves Jackson County. Trooper Engelhart was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 16, 2013, as a member of the 96th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Zone 7, Jackson County.
Corporal Engelhart was born in Clinton, Missouri. He graduated from Warrensburg High School, in Warrensburg, Missouri, in 2007. Before joining the Patrol, he attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. Corporal Engelhart is married to Amber (Purinton) Engelhart, who is originally from Warrensburg, Missouri. He and his wife have a daughter, Kacie.
