EMPHASIS: Regatta Cancellation Extended For Table Rock AndTaneycomo Lakes Due To Flood Conditions

Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces an extension of the regatta/fishing tournament permit cancellations on Table Rock Lake and Taneycomo Lake through May 8. Currently, Table Rock Lake is at an all-time record water level, which is causing record releases and swift currents on Taneycomo Lake. Large amounts of floating debris and strong currents have necessitated the cancellation of these marine regatta events. In addition to the safety concerns, the Highway Patrol has discouraged recreational boating on these lakes due to the damage boat wakes can cause to flooded docks and structures. Regatta participants should contact the organizer of their specific event for information pertaining to the rescheduling of the event.
