Troop C Releases Results From Hazardous Moving Operation In St. Charles County
On Saturday April 20, 2019, troopers conducted a hazardous moving enforcement operation in St. Charles County. During the eight-hour project, 90 vehicles were stopped for various traffic violations. As a result of those traffic stops, 130 citations and 58 warnings were issued. Twenty-one of these citations were issued to drivers who failed to “move over” for emergency vehicles that were stopped on the shoulder of the roadway displaying emergency lights.
Totals from this enforcement operation include:
63 - Speed citations
15 - Seat belt citations
25 - Hazardous moving violation citations
10 - Nonmoving violation citations
4 - Driver license violation citations
5 - Uninsured motorist citations
6 - Misdemeanor drug violations
1 - Misdemeanor warrant arrest
1 - Other misdemeanor arrest
“Hazardous moving violation operations are vital to reducing the number of people who are killed or seriously injured on Missouri roadways,” said Captain Stephen B. Ferrier. “Please slow down, eliminate distractions, and drive safely.”
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The
Trust
.”
