EMPHASIS:
Results Of Special Enforcement Projects--July 4th
Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of the special enforcement projects over the July 4th holiday. The projects encompassed two days--July 3, 2019, and July 5, 2019--designated as the peak travel days for the holiday period. As a result of the projects, officers issued 130 citations and 209 warnings. Officers also made two misdemeanor drug arrests and two misdemeanor warrant arrests, and assisted 35 motorists during the holiday period.
Troop H officers conducted two DWI saturations during the July 4th holiday covering the following counties: Atchison, Holt, Grundy and Livingston. As a result of those saturations, officers issued seven citations and 21 warnings, and assisted three motorists. Officers also made one misdemeanor drug arrest.
“Troopers were out in force over the July 4th holiday, and their vigorous enforcement efforts along with increased visibility helped keep Missouri motorists safer while traveling through Troop H,” stated Captain McDonald.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri's roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
"Don't Violate The Trust."
