Captain Steven V. Wilhoit Announces Promotion
Captain Steven V. Wilhoit, commanding officer of Troop A Lee’s Summit, announces the promotion of Trooper Matthew J. Hanrahan, effective February 1, 2022.
Trooper Matthew J. Hanrahan has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 6, serving the citizens of Jackson County. Hanrahan was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2010, as a member of the 92nd Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Zone 8, serving the citizens of Lafayette County.
Hanrahan was born in Warrensburg, Missouri. He graduated from Warrensburg High School, in 2002. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri, in 2008. Corporal Hanrahan is married to Sarah (Pyle), and they have two children, daughter Millie, 4, and son Jase, 2.
