EMPHASIS: Captain David P. Perkins Named Director Of Training Division

Colonel Ron K. Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces that effective March 1, 2010 Captain David P. Perkins will transfer from the Motor Vehicle Inspection Division to the Training Division and serve as director.

Captain Perkins joined the Patrol in 1986 as a motor vehicle inspector. He held that position until entering the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy as a member of the 61st Recruit Class in 1989. Upon graduating, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 6, Scotland County. Perkins was promoted to corporal in 1995. In 1997, he transferred to the Motor Vehicle Inspection Division, General Headquarters. Perkins was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1998, and designated assistant director of that same division. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2003, and designated director of the Motor Vehicle Inspection Division. In 2007, he was promoted to the rank of captain and remained director of the Motor Vehicle Inspection Division.

Capt. Perkins was born in St. Louis, MO. In 1980, he graduated from Fox High School in Arnold, MO. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration/economics from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO, in 1984. Capt. Perkins and his wife, Barbara (Dodd), live in Jefferson City. They have a son, Philip, and daughter-in-law, Joline. Philip is a member of the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Okinawa, Japan.
