EMPHASIS: Officer-Involved Shooting In Webster County, Missouri

At approximately 3 p.m. on November 19, 2020, officers from the Webster County Sheriff’s Department were attempting to serve an ex parte order at an address on Highway B, north of Rogersville, Missouri. The subject inside the residence refused to cooperate with the deputies on scene and barricaded himself inside. The Webster County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol at that time. After several hours of attempted negotiations, the man exited his residence with a semi-automatic style weapon and fired at the officers. Fearing for their safety, the officers returned fire striking the suspect. The suspect was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Officers with the Sheriffs’ Critical Incident Team which consists of members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, and the Webster County Sheriff’s Department along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug & Crime Control, are investigating the officer-involved shooting.
