Troop A Announces Promotions
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces the following promotions effective August 1, 2019.
Trooper Nicholas “Nick” A. Perez was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 10, which serves Saline County. Perez was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 2014, as a member of the 99th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Zone 10, Saline County.
Corporal Perez was born in Lexington, Missouri. He graduated from Lexington High School, in Lexington, Missouri, in 2008. Before joining the Patrol, he attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. Corporal Perez is married to Jayme (Rosencrans) Perez, who is originally from Higginsville, Missouri. He and his wife have two children, Trey and Luke.

Trooper
Joseph “Joey” D. Hall
was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 4, which serves Clay County. Hall was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 3, 2011, as a member of the 93rd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Zone 3, Clay County.
Corporal Hall was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Lathrop High School, in Lathrop, Missouri, in 2004. Before joining the Patrol, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sports Management from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri in 2008. Corporal Hall is married to Ashely (Stewart) Hall, who is originally from Highland, Kansas. He and his wife have a son, Brecken.

Trooper Aaron S. Craig was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 13, which serves Pettis County. Craig was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 6, 2008, as a member of the 87th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, Jefferson County. Craig later transferred to Troop A where he served Ray, Carroll, Henry, and Benton counties.
Corporal Craig was born in Cole Camp, Missouri. He graduated from Cole Camp High School, in Cole Camp, Missouri, in 2004. Before joining the Patrol, he attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. He earned an Associate of Science in criminal justice from Mineral Area Community College. Corporal Craig is married to Jessica (Simmons) Craig. He and his wife have three children, Payton, Katy, and Kenna.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
