EMPHASIS: Chief DE Dennis Richardson Promoted

Captain Darewin L. Clardy, director of the Driver and Vehicle Safety Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO, announces the following promotion effective January 1, 2022:

Chief Driver Examiner Dennis W. Richardson will be promoted to an assistant director of the Driver and Vehicle Safety Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City. Richardson began his career with the Missouri State Highway Patrol on August 20, 2006, as a driver examiner assigned to Troop F, Jefferson City. He became a supervisor in 2011, and remained assigned to Troop F. In 2016, he was promoted to chief driver examiner. Richardson transferred to the Driver and Vehicle Safety Division, General Headquarters, in 2018, and was designated the trainer/auditor. He is an active member of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators where he has served as the representative of Region III, on the test maintenance subcommittee, and as a CDL trainer. In 2019, he assisted with the AAMVA CDL Modernization Pilot Program and in 2021, Richardson was part of the AAMVA CDL Modernization Field Testing Program. Richardson grew up in Eldon, MO, and graduated from Eldon High School.
