Officer-Involved Shooting In Sikeston, MO
At 1:46 a.m. on April 29, 2020, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to 233 Dorothy Street in Sikeston, MO, after a call regarding a person being shot
.
At 2:35 a.m., while officers were processing the scene and obtaining information, the suspect approached the residence. Preliminary information revealed that officers made contact with the suspect and the situation escalated when the suspect refused to follow verbal commands. A use of force was utilized when officers discharged their weapons and the subject sustained gunshot wounds. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Scott County coroner.
Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control continue to investigate this incident.
