EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop On Interstate 55 Results In Drug Arrest

On March 9, 2009 at approximately 1:43 p.m., a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a 2003 Mercury Sable traveling north on Interstate 55 in New Madrid County for a lane violation.
Dangelo Ford, 24, of Calumet Park, Illinois, was the driver of a vehicle stopped for a lane violation. During the course of the traffic stop, permission to search was requested and granted. During the search, a pound of marijuana was located in the trunk of the vehicle. Dangelo Ford, and passenger Albert Mack, 26, of Calumet, Illinois, were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and taken to the New Madrid County Jail.
The charges for which Dangelo Ford and Albert Mack were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
