Troop G Releases Thanksgiving Day Enforcement Totals
Captain Mark G. Inman, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the Thanksgiving Day holiday period. Troop G troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness & Reduction Effort) from
Wednesday, November 22, 2017, through Sunday, November 26, 2017, meaning every available trooper was on the road enforcing traffic laws and assisting motorists.
Troop G troopers investigated 21 traffic crashes resulting in three injuries. Also, troopers made arrests for seven drug violations and arrested six people for driving while intoxicated.
Troop G troopers working on U.S. Highway 60 also participated in a special enforcement operation. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Missouri on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, and Sunday, November 26, 2017. Troop G totals from this operation include:
149-- speed citations
8-- seat belt citations
2-- child restraint citations
4-- other hazardous moving vehicle citations
4-- non-moving citations
3-- no driver’s license citations
6-- uninsured motorist citations
1-- misdemeanor drug arrest
7-- misdemeanor warrant arrests
2-- felony driving while intoxicated arrests
134-- warnings
“We are fortunate Troop G has no fatality crashes to report this holiday weekend,” said Capt. Inman. “Our troopers work very hard to keep the motoring public safe. Please do your part by limiting your distractions, designating a sober driver, and wearing your seat belt.”
The only 100 percent survivable crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
