Captain Jeffrey N. Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces that the motorcycle skills portion of the testing process has been temporarily suspended on Thursdays at the Cape Girardeau Driver Examination Station. This will be in effect until November 2016, due to another event at the site.

Written examinations and Class E and Class F skills tests will be offered as normally scheduled. The motorcycle skills testing process is still offered at Cape Girardeau each Monday and Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and at the Dexter Driver Examination Station each Thursday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., when pavement is dry. For more information on testing availability, please contact the Driver Examination Division at (573) 840-9500.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
