EMPHASIS: Chief Telecom. Eng. retires after 33 years of service.



It is with tremendous gratitude for the many years of service the Missouri State Highway Patrol announces the retirement of 33-year veteran Chief Telecommunications Engineer Delbert McCormick. Chief McCormick leaves the Patrol a better organization as a result of his many years of dedicated service.



Chief McCormick was born in Willow Springs, Missouri and graduated from Willow Springs High School. McCormick served his country as a member of the United States Navy as a Radioman 1st class from 1963 - 1971. In December of 1971 he was appointed to the Patrol and assigned to Troop C, Kirkwood, Missouri. In August of 1978 McCormick transferred to Troop D, Springfield and in 1989 was promoted to chief telecommunications engineer. McCormick held the Chief position until his recent retirement.



Delbert and his wife, Barbara reside in Springfield, Missouri and he plans to continue his hobbies of fishing, playing golf and traveling.
