Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the promotion of Sergeant Robert G. May to lieutenant effective June 1, 2019.
May graduated from the Missouri State Water Patrol Academy in 1999, and became a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol when the agencies merged on January 1, 2011. May was promoted to corporal in August 2008, while serving as a water patrolman. After the merge, he was assigned to Troop I, and served in both Zone 3, Crawford County, and Zone 10, marine enforcement operations. In April 2014, he was promoted to sergeant and designated zone supervisor of Troop I, Zone 7, Dent County.

Lieutenant May is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, at Warrensburg, Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. He and his wife, Andrea, have one son.
