EMPHASIS:
Troop D Announces Results Of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) Enforcement Operation
Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) enforcement operation conducted in Greene and Lawrence counties on June 5-7, 2016. The enforcement areas were selected due to a history of criminal activity within these counties as well as a high propensity for commercial vehicle violations.
During the three-day operation, troopers and a Missouri State Highway Patrol commercial vehicle officer stopped 49 commercial vehicles and 118 passenger vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:
Misdemeanor Drug Arrests -- 6
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest -- 1
Seat Belt Violations -- 6
Driver License Violations -- 2
Non-Moving Offenses -- 5
Officers also conducted 33 commercial vehicle inspections and issued 161 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
