EMPHASIS:
Troop D Announces Results Of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program SAFETE Operations
Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program SAFETE operations in Greene, Jasper, and Lawrence counties on May 16, 2017.
During the operation in Greene County, troopers stopped 23 commercial vehicles and seven passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 22 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in three vehicles and three drivers being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 2
Speed Violation -- 1
Seat Belt Violations -- 4
Non-Moving Violation -- 1
Insurance Violation -- 1
Driver License Violation -- 1
Troopers also issued 45 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
During the operation in Jasper County, troopers stopped 26 commercial vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 25 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Misdemeanor Drug Arrest -- 1
Troopers also issued 48 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
During the operation in Lawrence County, troopers stopped 14 commercial vehicles and three passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 13 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in three vehicles and three drivers being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Troopers also issued 20 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
