Troop D Announces Results Of Enforcement Saturation On The Niangua River
Captain John Enderle, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a cooperative marine enforcement saturation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri Department of Conservation in Dallas County on the Niangua River on Saturday, June 29, 2019. The goal of this enforcement operation was to detect intoxicated boaters and other violations that contribute to boating crashes and drownings. Also, the enforcement location was selected based on the high number of drinking- and impairment-related boating crashes, in addition to reported behavioral problems, illegal drug usage, and underage alcohol consumption.
The following is a list of enforcement contacts made by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Missouri Department of Conservation during the saturation on the Niangua River:
Total Number of Contacts ─ 167
Total Arrests ─ 26
Personal Floatation Device Violations ─ 5
Littering/Unsecure Trash Violation ─ 1
Minor in Possession Violations ─ 3
Possession of Glass Container Violations -- 2
Misdemeanor Drug Violations ─ 15
Warnings ─ 9
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every other driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “
Don’t Violate The Trust.”
