Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control have investigated the plot to murder a Gasconade County resident.

The investigation was initiated on March 3, 2021, based on information brought to the Division of Drug and Crime Control. During the investigation, it was determined Leigh Ann Bauman, 43, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, conspired to have an acquaintance murdered. Bauman was arrested on March 4, 2021, at her residence for conspiracy to commit murder first degree and transported to the Camden County Jail.

On March 5, 2021, Bauman was formally charged in Camden County with the class C felony of conspiracy. No bond was authorized on the warrant.

The above charge is mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of this charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
