EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations In August
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces the results of seven driving while intoxicated saturations that were conducted during the month of August 2009.
On August 15, 2009, four officers focused their attention on all major routes in Pettis County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, two people were arrested for driving while intoxicated and 29 citations were issued. In addition, 80 warnings were issued.
On August 21, 2009, three officers focused their attention on all major routes in Pettis County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, two people were arrested on felony warrants, one person was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant, one person was arrested on a misdemeanor drug possession, two people were arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, and seven citations were issued. In addition, officers investigated two motor vehicle crashes and issued 14 warnings.
On August 22, 2009, four officers focused their attention on all major routes in Johnson County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, one person was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, two people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, three people were arrested for felony drug possession, one person was arrested on a felony warrant, one person was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant, six people were arrested for misdemeanor drug possession, and 11 citations were issued. In addition, 48 warnings were issued.
On August 28, 2009, four officers focused their attention on all major routes in Cass County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, three people were arrested on felony warrants, one person was arrested on a felony other arrest, 11 people were arrested on misdemeanor criminal offenses, one person was arrested on a misdemeanor drug possession, and 15 citations were issued. In addition, 38 warnings were issued.
On August 28, 2009, four officers focused their attention on all major routes in Jackson County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, two people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, one person was arrested on a felony drug possession, two people were arrested on misdemeanor criminal charges, and 22 citations were issued. In addition, officers investigated two motor vehicle crashes and issued 44 warnings.
On August 29, 2009, four officers focused their attention on all major routes in Clay County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, one person was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant, and 14 citations were issued. In addition, 34 warnings were issued.
On August 29, 2009, three officers focused their attention on all major routes in Platte County. As a result of the eight-hour operation, three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, and eight citations were issued. In addition, 13 warnings were issued.
Captain Powell stated, “Our officers are working hard to make the highways safer for the motoring public. Remember to do your part. If you are going to drink, please do not drive.”
