Captain D. Scott Sater Announces Promotions
Captain D. Scott Sater, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, is pleased to announce the following promotions effective September 1, 2022.
Trooper Brian O’Sullivan has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 8, serving Barton and Vernon counties. O’Sullivan was appointed to the Patrol on March 15, 2000, as a member of the 77th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 9, serving Cedar and St. Clair counties. In September 2005, O’Sullivan transferred to Troop D, Zone 8.
Corporal O’Sullivan was born in Lamar, Missouri. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1997. O’Sullivan earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. Corporal O’Sullivan is married to Kori O’Sullivan and together have two children, Cody and Chelsey.
Trooper Samuel R. Glass has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 8, serving Barton and Vernon counties. Glass was appointed to the Patrol on January 4, 2016, as a member of the 102nd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 13, serving Newton and McDonald counties. In December 2021, Glass transferred to Troop D, Zone 5, serving Jasper county.
Corporal Glass was born in Stockton, Missouri. He graduated from Stockton High School in 2008. Glass earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from Missouri State University and a Master of Business Administration from Northwest Missouri State University. Glass also served as a specialist in the United States Army.
Trooper Samuel Carpenter has been promoted to corporal and remains a public information and education officer for Troop D, serving Southwest Missouri. Carpenter was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002, as a member of the 80th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 13, serving Newton and McDonald counties. In 2006, he transferred to Zone 11, serving Jasper county. In July 2019, Carpenter was designated as a Troop D public information and education officer.
Corporal Carpenter is from Joplin, Missouri. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1991. He earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri in 2003.
