Corporal John "Clint" Gilliland Promoted To Sergeant
Captain Shawn P. Skoglund, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, Missouri, is pleased to announce the promotion of Corporal John “Clint” Gilliland. The promotion is effective June 1, 2024. Gilliland is a 17-year veteran with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Gilliland was appointed to the Patrol on January 7, 2007, as a member of the 86th Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 6, Andrew and Buchanan counties. In 2010, he transferred to Zone 10, DeKalb and Daviess counties. In 2014, Gilliland transferred to Zone 4, Grundy, Livingston, and Mercer counties. In 2017, he was promoted to corporal and served as the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 4. Sergeant Gilliland will remain in Zone 4 as the zone supervisor.
Sergeant Gilliland was born in Chillicothe, Missouri, and graduated from Southwest Livingston R1. In 2006, he graduated from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Sergeant Gilliland is married to Tatum, and they have two children, Ryelee and Kamdyn.
