EMPHASIS: Troop E Promotions Announced

Captain Philip E. Gregory, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the following promotions effective February 1, 2021.

Corporal Shayne K. Talburt has been promoted to sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 15, marine operations. Talburt was appointed to the Patrol on January 6, 2008. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 4, Audrain County. In October 2011, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 1, Butler and Ripley counties. He and his wife Stephanie (Smith) Talburt have two children. Trooper Ronald W. Eakins has been promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of
Zone 5, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, and Scott counties. Eakins was appointed to the Patrol on March 15, 2000. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 6, Mississippi, New Madrid, and Scott counties. In April 2007, he transferred to Zone 4, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, and Scott counties. He is married to Angela (Cates) Eakins.
