EMPHASIS: Captain Vitale Announces Promotion Of Corporal Andrew F. Cheaney

Captain Jeffrey N. Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the promotion of Corporal Andrew F. Cheaney. He has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 13, which serves the citizens of Iron and Madison counties. Cheaney was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 2001, as a member of the 78th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Academy, Cheaney was assigned to Troop C, Zone 13, which serves the citizens of Jefferson County. January 1, 2011, Cheaney transferred to Troop E, Zone 13, which serves the citizens of Madison and Iron counties. On May 1, 2014, he was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 7, which serves the citizens of Scott, Mississippi, and New Madrid counties.

Corporal Cheaney is a graduate of Arcadia Valley High School and Southeast Missouri State University. Corporal Cheaney and his wife, Heather (Smith), have two sons: Carter and Layton.
