EMPHASIS: Lt. Paul J. Reinsch Retires September 1, 2018

Colonel Sandra K. Karsten, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following retirement:

Lieutenant Paul J. Reinsch, Q/PIED, retires effective September 1, 2018, after more than 28 years of dedicated service.

Reinsch joined the Patrol on July 1, 1990, as a member of the 63rd Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 6, Morgan/Moniteau counties. He transferred to the Training Division and served as an instructor from April 1995 to March 1996. On March 1, 1996, Reinsch transferred to Troop F, Zone 2, Cole County. He was promoted to corporal on July 1, 1999, and designated assistant zone supervisor of that same zone. On June 6, 2000, he was named public information and education officer for Troop F and transferred to troop headquarters. Reinsch was promoted to sergeant on October 1, 2001. Reinsch was promoted to lieutenant on March 1, 2015, and transferred to the Public Information and Education Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, where he served as the assistant director.

Lieutenant Reinsch grew up in Argyle, MO. He graduated from Fatima High School in Westphalia, MO, in 1979. In 1983, he earned a Bachelor of Science in information systems management from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) in Springfield, MO. He earned an Associate of Science from Mineral Area College, Park Hills, MO, in 1990. Lt. Reinsch and his wife, Gloria (Schrimpf), have two children, Austin and Emily.
