Patrol Aircraft 93MP Assists In Locating Shooting Suspect
Approximately 6:14 p.m., on November 14, 2019, Troop I troopers responded to a *55 emergency call reporting a shooting at the 118-mile marker exit ramp of Interstate 44 in the Phillipsburg, MO, area. Shortly after the *55 call, the Laclede County sheriff contacted Troop I regarding the same incident. Initial reports indicated two individuals had been shot and the suspect had fled the scene on foot. After the two victims were transported to a local hospital, troopers and deputies began a search for the suspect. At 6:25 p.m. Troop I communications requested assistance from the Patrol’s Aircraft Division. Patrol aircraft 93MP responded to the suspect’s last known location to assist in the search. Using an infrared camera and mapping system, 93MP’s flight crew located a heat source near railroad tracks and directed officers to that specific location. The female suspect was then taken into custody without incident. The Laclede County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation.
