EMPHASIS: Troop E Officers To Step Up Selt Belt Enforcement On April 15, 2013

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces on April 15, 2013, Troop E officers will be joining statewide efforts with other law enforcement agencies for an aggressive "Click It Or Ticket" mobilization to get more motorists to buckle up -- and save more lives.

Despite evidence proving the benefits of wearing a seat belt, nearly one in four Missouri motorists are still not "making it click." Preliminary 2012 statistics show 64% of individuals killed in Missouri traffic crashes were unrestrained. Captain Ridens said, "We will be out there to remind you that seat belts can and do save lives." "Local motorists should be prepared for stepped up Click It Or Ticket enforcement."

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
